This project belongs to the following programs: Inequalities, Rights and Governances
Solidarity Agents: Telecenters for the continuing education of immigrants and refugees
Coordination: Jenny De la Rosa (Flacso Brasil) e Leylah Marques (IFSP Campus São Paulo)
The project “Solidarity Agents: continuing education for immigrants and refugees in situations of vulnerability” is developed through a partnership between the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Flacso Brazil), its Program on Inequalities, Rights and Governances, and the Extension Program of the Federal Institute of São Paulo – IFSP São Paulo Campus. It seeks, through popular education and educommunication, to promote citizenship education for immigrants and refugees in vulnerable situations, supporting them—both through social media and in-person activities—in their inclusion in Brazil’s socioeconomic life.
The objective of the project, in addition to fostering civic engagement, is to support the regularization of immigrants and refugees in the country by promoting communication between them and Brazilian state institutions, expanding access to public policies and facilitating the integration of these populations into society.
Training sessions and services are carried out at the facilities of the Federal Institute of São Paulo, using computer lab infrastructure to develop technological knowledge and enable individuals to gain autonomy in accessing and interacting with government digital platforms and their services.
