This research proposal is motivated by and has as its theoretical reference the results of the research obtained in the work ‘Youth Trajectories/Practices in Times of the Covid-19 Pandemic,’ convened and coordinated by the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences Brazil (hereinafter FLACSO Brazil), to which were later added the FLACSO campuses of Mexico, Cuba, Ecuador, Argentina, and Chile, the University of Piauí, Brazil, and the Institute of Public Health of São Paulo, Brazil.
The objective is to deepen the content and meanings that give sense to the reported experience, in order to address, from the perspective of young people, those central aspects that support their interpretations of current reality and a projected reality. These are relevant pieces of information that deepen the social interactions of young people, the symbolic, cultural, individual, and social capitals that should be considered for the design, implementation, and execution of public policies, in a future-building process that recognizes the particularities, interests, and needs of this population sector. Thus, the aim is to understand, from a gender and intersectional perspective, the vulnerabilities and resistances associated with hopes/disenchantments, expectations of Brazilian youth.
