This project proposes to survey this information to understand how these authorities operate in neighboring countries, in a context where Brazil has just approved legislation on the subject (Law No. 13,709\/2018) and will need to implement its authority. The aim is, therefore, to map data that has not yet been compiled and to understand regulatory models.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 20 countries in Latin America, it is proposed to conduct field visits in 7 of them, namely: Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Chile, Panama, and Peru, which have implemented protection laws and authorities. The theoretical problem is divided into two issues. The first issue refers to the institutional differences between the various countries, in the ways they organize their data protection systems.
