{"id":48311,"date":"2022-01-24T14:14:35","date_gmt":"2022-01-24T17:14:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flacso.org.br\/f-a-q\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T16:49:22","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T19:49:22","slug":"frequently-asked-questions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/flacso.org.br\/en\/frequently-asked-questions\/","title":{"rendered":"Frequently Asked Questions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\">What is Flacso Brazil?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flacso Brazil is the Brazilian headquarters of the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Flacso), an international, autonomous, and intergovernmental organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With headquarters in the city of Bras\u00edlia and one in S\u00e3o Paulo, Flacso Brazil carries out research, training, and cooperation activities in the areas of education, human rights, health, youth, violence, inequalities, social participation, culture, ethnic-racial diversity, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\">What is the Flacso System?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Flacso) is an international, autonomous, and intergovernmental organization, founded in 1957 by Latin American States that adopted a recommendation from the IX General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Flacso System is currently composed of 18 member states that carry out academic activities, research, and cooperation initiatives in 13 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\">What are the member states of the Flacso System?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Suriname, and Uruguay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\">How do I get in touch with Flacso Brazil?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our service is provided through the emails flacsobr@flacso.org.br and secretaria.academica@flacso.org.br, which are checked and answered daily.
